Design of a B2B application that connects banks to the Swift network

Every day millions of automated messages get send by banks across the worldwide Swift network. Alliance Cloud is Swift's new B2B application, designed from scratch to replace its previous applications and give banks a secure, modern way to exchange financial messages.

My role in the design process

I have been working for years on the Alliance Cloud application. Being one of the leading UX designers, I was involved in every step of the design process.

  • Ideation & stakeholder alignment

    Generating draft concepts and discussing them with internal stakeholders, including product managers, analysts and Swift consultants.

  • Research & analysis

    Understanding the application's concept through explanations from Swift experts, analysing existing applications, and reviewing routing rules examples from customers.

  • User research

    Understanding how bank employees work — who configures the setup, when, and why — through bank office visits, Swift conferences and remote interviews.

  • Design

    Designing low- and high-fidelity wireframes, interactive prototypes and accessible user interfaces in Figma.

  • Iteration & implementation support

    Refining the design through user research and feedback, then prioritising and solving implementation challenges to make it development-ready.

  • Launch & continuous improvement

    Researching the user experience post-launch through support cases, surveys and consultant requests, to identify what's missing or unclear.

As her coordinator, Lore was always a team member I could trust to deliver very high-level quality work in terms of innovative design, clear and detailed UX specifications. She was highly reliable in everything she was committed to. She was working on very complex subjects such as financial message routing rules creation and management, and her magic was producing amazing intuitive and useful screens for users and operators.

She used to work with autonomy on all her projects, managing the different project stakeholders with great human and communication skills. She was not afraid to challenge decisions that she thought were not user/ customer driven. She really was the voice of the users of her products, pushing for enough research to take the best decisions.

Basically, I would love to still have her in my team. I miss her a lot for her many qualities.
